Insight: Many news sources and social media sites offer quick, but questionable content for free. As a result, comprehensive trustworthy newspapers are overlooked.
Idea: To help people understand the difference between fast, but questionable news and verified news, we created a pop-up shop.
Execution: At the pop-up shop, customers can choose between two options: to purchase a brewed hot drink or accept a free instant drink. Customers who choose the instant option are deceived, with just a sip, in a false-bottomed tall cup. Only when they see the message at the bottom of the cup do they realize. Customers who purchase the brewed option receive a limited edition Sunday Times newspaper and a three-month online subscription.
